OK this post has nothing to do with organizing other than getting yourself organized to get your hands on my top 10 Costo picks ...
#1 Boom Chicka Pop Kettle Corn
I avoid refined sugars at all costs as within 20 minutes I'm flattened. However, I tolerate cane sugar products fairly well. So when I discovered this Kettle Corn at a Costco demo, I was hooked. I hate to admit it but will buy several at a time.
Tip - Put your serving in a bowl and use the bowl as a helping limiter. Once the bowl is done, you're done!
Warning - this on is seriously addictive.
#2 Whisps Parmesan Cheese Crisps
These were a recent find at Costco. Aside from satisfying the tart salty desire, the ingredients are minimal which is a plus. They are a great replacement for fries or chips.
Tip - Stock up just in case they run out of stock.
#3 Kodiak Cakes Flapjack &Waffle Mix
These are a Friday family favourite. They are delicious and make really fluffy Belgian waffles", says one of my twins. While the other twin says, "Mom, they can be pancakes too!" You can increase the protein by making them with eggs and milk or just use water to reduce protein. They come with 3 separate packages inside, so they stay fresh longer. While I wish they were made with cane sugar, they are made with brown sugar.
Tip - Buy a bunch, the first time I got it they ran out and I couldn't find it for over a year!!
#4 Sunco Dried Uncrystallized Ginger Slices
These suckers are a perfect digestive treat after dinner or for an upset tummy. Again cane sugar based ... so bonus points! You get a lot for the price and they last a fairly long time depending on how quickly to munch through them
Warning - some slices are pretty mouth warming!
#5 KFI Butter Chicken
Super yum, super easy and super delish. Whether you add chicken or tofu with some veggies, it always turns out great.
Tip - If you are sensitive to spicy, this is a little spicy but tolerable.
#6 Kirkland Maple Syrup
So often, Kirkland, the private label Costco brand delivers exceptional value. There is no exception here ...the Kirkland grade A maple syrup and 3 Kg honey are staples in our house. The maple syrup replaces sugar in things like whipped cream or espresso and is wonderful on strawberries. While any baking I use the Kirkland honey. The best thing aside from the taste is the price.
TIP - We always have 2-3 on hand, so that pretty much says it all!
#7 Alo Aloe Vera Drink
Again, the cane sugar/honey ingredients over refined sugar won me over. This 2 pack combines Aloe and honey or Aloe and Mango. Over ice is the only way to go - the taste and texture combine to create an unusual tasting experience. It's made from real aloe vera pulp & juice straight from the leaf, not the powder and it's been verified non GMO so extra bonus points here.
Tip - Lightly on the sweet side but refreshing - if it's too sweet for you add a little soda or water.
#8 Better than Bouillon
Brilliant idea to make a bouillon paste and put in it in a jar. Organic, uses cane sugar, no msg and comes in chicken, beef and vegetable. Spoon into soups, sauces and get enjoy servings from one jar.
Tip - Refrigerate after opening.
#9 Chicken Gyoza Dumplings
Quick and easy solution for kids lunches. Tasty and you get a good amount for the price.
Tip - When you heat them in the micro, put a wet paper towel over them to keep them moist.
#10 Fresh Gourmet Crispy Onions
These are ridiculously good. Try them on just about anything - hamburgers, soups, hot dogs, omelets, salads, soups, pizza, baked potatoes. Minimal ingredients for bonus points
Warning - these suckers do have a fair amount of oil in them, so you may notice a pool of oil in the bottom once you get there.
