20 Tips Where You Can Make a Difference

Earth Day doesn't need to stop today; let it be a practice every day.

  1. Cut back on spending - consumerism is killing us.

  2. Repurpose existing packaging instead of buying containers to get organized.

  3. Wash, label and reuse ziplocks, storing them in the freezer in alphabetical order.

  4. Wear you clothing more than once, then wash (some exceptions apply).

  5. Use 2 pods vs 3 pods for laundry.

  6. Eat less - take only what you can eat; Its estimated we waste 30% of our food.

  7. Lower your foodprint - check out this meat calculator.

  8. Grow veggies - easiest are lettuce, spinach, kale, radishes, beans, swiss chard.

  9. Go digital - one office worker uses 10,000 sheets of paper annually.

  10. Put cloth grocery bags in the car for groceries and shopping.

  11. Use energy efficient LED light bulbs.

  12. Use alternate cleaning products - i.e. lemon and vinegar.

  13. Turn off lights - use natural light whenever possible.

  14. Don't let the water run when shaving or brushing your teeth - conserve 10+ gallons of water a day.

  15. Avoid single use plastics - 1 million plastic bottles end in landfills every minute around the world.

  16. Shut down your computer when not in use - reduces energy consumption.

  17. Use Facebook Marketplace - make money and keep items out of the landfill.

  18. Waste not want not - use extra noodle water to water plants; the starchiness can help them grow.

  19. Always Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

  20. Take shorter showers - baths take 30-45 gallons vs a 10 min shower which takes 20 gallons (2 gallons per min).

Let's commit to practicing these simple habits every day, honoring Earth not just on Earth Day, but in every moment. Together, we can make a lasting difference for our planet.
